BACK TO SET: Working Directors Intensive is a two-day in-person symposium created by Alliance of Women Directors to bring together a vibrant, cross-sector community of filmmakers for craft-focused, career-advancing programming.
In a moment where creative leadership and connection are more vital than ever, BACK TO SET invites directors from film, television, and new media—as well as executives, crew, and advocates—to come together for immersive workshops, panels, and community-building in the heart of Downtown LA.
Our 2025 event will be held fully in-person, offering hands-on experiences, intimate access to top industry professionals, and space to sharpen your tools before heading back to set.
This year’s dynamic programming spotlights directing across genres and formats, from television to indie features, and tackling essential topics like team leadership, breaking into episodic, navigating your reps, and building a sustainable career.
